Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 June 2026

Wedding Buzz ("we", "us") lets couples create wedding websites and collect RSVPs from their guests. This policy explains what personal information we handle, why, and the choices you have. It covers both account holders (couples) and wedding guests who use a Wedding Buzz website.

Information we collect

  • Account holders: your email address, your and your partner's first names, your wedding date and venue, and the content and images you add to your website.
  • Guests: the details you submit when you RSVP — your name, attendance, and optionally your email address and dietary requirements. This information is provided to, and controlled by, the couple whose wedding you are responding to.
  • Technical data: we process IP addresses transiently for security purposes (such as rate limiting) and store only a truncated, hashed form.

How we use it

  • To provide the service: building and displaying the couple's wedding website and collecting their RSVPs.
  • To secure the service: preventing abuse, verifying email addresses, and protecting guest data.
  • To communicate with account holders about their account (for example password resets and email verification).

We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or send marketing emails.

Who processes your data

Wedding Buzz runs on Google Cloud and Firebase (Google Ireland Limited), which store our data and provide authentication. Venue and map features use Google Maps. These providers process data on our behalf under their own data-processing terms.

How long we keep it

Your data is kept while the account it belongs to remains active. When an account is deleted, the couple's website, guest list and RSVPs, and uploaded images are permanently deleted. Guests can ask the couple to remove their RSVP at any time.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Account holders can delete their entire account, including all guest data, from Account Settings. If you are a guest, the couple controls your RSVP data — contact them first, or reach us using the email below.
